Hi all,

What are the distance units in the dataset? I assume microns?

Hi Garrett,

> What are the distance units in the dataset? I assume microns?

In general, all coordinates and distances in neuprint are expressed in voxel units, i.e. the resolution of the base image data, which is 8nm.  To convert to microns, multiply by 8/1000.

Please see the release notes for more details:

Best regards,
Stuart

Is this the same for mitochondria size?  It's expressed in voxels?  How do I convert it to um3?
Thank you

Yes, mito size is expressed in voxels.  Each voxel is 8nm wide (isotropic), so multiply by 8^3 to obtain nm^3, and divide that by 1e9 to obtain um^3.

mito = fetch_mitochondria(body)
mito['size_um3'] = mito['size'] * 8**3 / 1e9
