You can install Cameo DataHub through MagicDraw Resource/Plugin Manager or the source zip file of the plugin, but the recommended way to install the plugin is via MagicDraw Resource/Plugin Manager. This section also explains DOORS driver deployment, DataHub version upgrades, and data migration from DataHub previous versions.

The book is easier to read if you are familiar with UML/SysML and basic concepts of CATIA Magic software for MBSE; that is, Magic Cyber Systems Engineer / Cameo Systems Modeler or Magic Systems of Systems Architect / Cameo Enterprise Architecture along with the Cameo DataHub plugin installed on the top, or Magic Software Architect / MagicDraw with the SysML and Cameo DataHub plugins, as of version 19.0.

Sinks are destinations for metadata. When configuring ingestion for DataHub, you're likely to be sending the metadata to DataHub over either the REST (datahub-sink) or the Kafka (datahub-kafka) sink. In some cases, the File sink is also helpful to store a persistent offline copy of the metadata during debugging.

The --dry-run option of the ingest command performs all of the ingestion steps, except writing to the sink. This is useful to validate that theingestion recipe is producing the desired metadata events before ingesting them into datahub.
