Ive made several miniature barns in the past - the Tiny Barn and the Barn made from a recycled box. Since then I've collected photos of barns for inspiration to make another miniature barn. Finally I settled on this pattern which I call the Old Gray Barn for this Barn challenge. I hope you will join me in making a barn.

If you are new to my website, here is how to get the Old Gray Barn pattern Design No. 146. Subscribe to my Paper Glitter Glue newsletter which is where I share craft information and crafty inspiration. The form is right below. You will get the password to my library right away after you subscribe. Please be assured that I will never send you any spam.

After that go to the Paper Glitter Glue library click the orange button which says CLICK HERE to get to the password page, add the password. Now you have access to all of my paper craft files in the library.

Please note that all of my free files are numbered and listed in chronological order. So pay attention to the month and year for the file you are looking for. This little barn is located in the June 2023 section of the library as Design No. 146.

If you use a Cricut or other cutting machine to cut out your patterns, you need to be aware of score lines. Having your machine cut and score your cardboard or card stock just makes creating so easy. I used to have this thought that I was cheating to use a machine for cutting, but I've gotten over that.

Each of these pieces is grouped with its score lines. Select the set of score lines. When I draw a pattern, I draw the score lines in red so you can instantly know that this is a score line because the color box under the Operations menu is red.

The nice thing is that by rotating the design 90 degrees and flipping it, you can cut out both the front and back pieces of the barn on one 8.5" x 11" piece of cardboard or card stock. I attached them together in Design Space so I don't have rearranged them on the cutting mat.

You can do it step-by-step with my Alpine Village Wreath Workshop. Just let your creativity flow as create your own little village proudly displayed on a wreath. You'll create a heirloom that your family will treasure for years.

You are welcome to link to PaperGlitterGlue.com or use a single image with a brief description and a link back to any post. Do not republish any post. That's not allowed. But I do like it when you share my photos to Pinterest.

This will be a chip timed event. Your laps will be counted for you. This is YOUR challenge.

I suggested to friends, including the esteemed Toph Whisnant, that WacoFork should stage some sort of "Burger Wars." Maybe it was because this discussion took place the day that Whisnant and Jose Zuniga engaged in gorging themselves with multiple double-double burgers. Whisnant countered that I should take a Waco burger challenge of eating a different Waco restaurant burger every hour on the hour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As luck would have it, I found two of them while doing reconnaissance on Friday morning. Two burger joints, located less than a mile from each other in Lacy Lakeview, each issue a burger challenge to their customers.

Dave's Burger Barn presents the "Zipper Ripper Challenge." The burger-eater is challenged to consume five layers of burger, bacon and cheese along with a pound of fries or tots and a drink in 12 minutes. If the burger-eater succeeds, he or she is rewarded with a free meal, a T-shirt and his or her picture on the Wall of Fame. If the burger-eater fails, he or she pays $14.95 for the food and makes the Wall of Shame. There are way more pictures on the Wall of Shame than the Wall of Fame.

Meanwhile, just on the other side of I-35, Burgers Galore offers customers the chance to challenge "The Beast," which is three pounds of cheese-burger monstrosity. If the burger-eater succeeds, he or she wins bragging rights, a free meal on the next visit and free drinks for life. Photos of successful burger-eaters adorn the walls of Bugers Galore along with the type of Beast they challenged (Beasts come in different flavors) and the time it took them to win the battle.

So my question is this: who's up for it? I'll happily buy lunch for the first taker at each restaurant, provided that we can use the occasion to produce a blog and, possibly, a video.

The Both Ends Open, Pole Barn Wind Load Challenge

There are plenty of people who just do not understand the basic concepts of how wind loads are transferred through a pole barn (post frame building) to the ground. Included amongst these would be those who desire buildings which are enclosed on both long sidewalls and open on both ends. This is one of the worst possible design concepts one can come up with in a new post frame building.

Just because Joe happens to have a building standing which sound engineering practice says it should not be, does not make it right. Most folks are going to make a significant financial investment into a new post frame building and my personal preference is for them to not have their insurance company paying to replace the building.

Hello friends! I was honored to be invited to participate in a decorating challenge from Pottery Barn! We were each sent their Tanner Nesting Tables, and were challenged to use them to create 2 different looks, in 2 areas in our home. I love the look of nesting tables since they are so functional and can be used in many ways. You never can have too many side accent tables am I right?

I wanted to show off how the tables make a great way to hold a big statement accessory like the huge mercury glass vase, which is also from Pottery Barn that I already had. Then all it needed was a basket for texture and another small glass dish filled with pinecones and my huge acorns.
