Im getting this error since re-downloading and installing FIFA 15...Basically I've just formatted my hard disk and installed an SSD. I've installed Win 7 64bit on the SSD and everything else has been installed on my HDD. This includes Origin and games. Origin has been installed into F:\program files\origin whereas games have been installed to F:\program files(x86)\origin games\...I have installed Dragon Age Inquisition from DVD i bought and it works fine. However I've downloaded Fifa 15 Ultimate team Ed. and I get the following error when I double click on the desktop icon: THE GAME FIFA 15 ULTIMATE TEAM EDITION DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE INSTALLED. PLEASE RE-INSTALL IT OR TRY RELAUNCHING THE GAME. I've tried both including uninstalling and redownloading the 9Gb but get the same error. The game is actually installed physically and can be found at F:\program files(x86)\origin games\FIFA 15\. It also appears in the Control Panel/programs. I can even run the gameconfig but not the game itself. Appreciate your help with the matter...
@built4thekill Hey, I suspect there's an issue with the old install of the game. Can you try grabbing the FIFA 15 folder and move it to a different location/rename it.
Then, within Programs and Features, manually uninstall it. You will likely get an error message with a prompt to continue, please do so.
Then move/rename your FIFA folder back to its F:\program files(x86)\origin games\ location and restart the Origin client. When you do so it should hopefully detect the game, do a quick scan and install, and you should be good to go.
Hi David, thanks for the reply...No didn't work...actually when moving the folder I noticed that it was only 2.76Gb. Looks like it didn't download completely despite getting the message that the game has finished downloading. Anyhow, tried what you said, it only prompts me to download again and it starts off at 28% (where it says playable). But its now its not downloading just stuck there...
It definitely sounds like the install has issues. To start with, try removing and re-adding the game to your exceptions lists for your anti-virus and firewall. Also launch Origin as an administrator.
1. Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.
2. Navigate to the Origin subfolder located within C:\ProgramData\
Note: This folder is hidden by default, you will need to un-hide it first.
3. Now delete ALL the subfolders visible within C:\ProgramData\Origin, except for the LocalContent folder.
HI David. Still same problem. Origin ends the download at 28% - the "playable" mark. And that's it. Get the same error msg. The Fifa 15 folder is still only 2.76Gb and origin crashes if I try anything on the FIFA 15 tab in the client
built4thekill the first step, checked in Origin/Application Settings/Advanced/Safe Mod Downloading-checked Enable Safe Mod Downloading and do not forget make sure you are the administrator, run the setup file Origin with Admin rights and restart Origin.
Solved your question ? ...please hit Accept As Solution on the post they did so others know it worked or have the curtsy to say " Thanks, but it didn't work "
Hi Yahel, thanks for the reply. I've uninstalled and redownloading in safe mode. I'll let you know if it works. I've thanked David in most of my posts so I'm not quite sure what your problem is with my courtesy.
If anyone else has had this problem I've finally found a solution which even the techs at EA couldn't provide. Simply copy an install of the game from a friend's PC and follow the below tutorial of how to install an Origin game with an install from another PC:
I am trying to launch my origin but it keeps telling me that the installer encountered an error and the error code is 20:403 and I have tried to reinstall origin but now it won't let me install it, it gives me the same code. Can anyone please help
I by accidently uninstall my origin, I want to install it back but it gave me the error of 20:403 and told me I am not connected to the internet, but I am connected to the internet. I also have the sims 3 packs that I wanted to redeem to EA but told me it is already used. I installed it by disc and then the origin told me that I need to update, it ended up gave me an error. please help.
I bought a game last year and I have a few others I got from on the house and codes or as demos, I switched to a different computer than what I had originally installed origin and set-up and account on. every time I press download on one of my games to put it on this computer(as I have installed origin here as well as I have it on my old computer) it gives me a warning stating "SETTINGS: The Installation Directory is invalid. Please select a different directory" then when I close the pop up it sends me to my settings I've tried to make small fixes on what I know wont mess up my games (I worry if I mess with something I don't fully understand I'll mess up my games for good) and nothing changes I've made sure all settings that can be put onto default are and nothing works.
Are you sure these two (see attachment) definitely match up (the cache just adds a subdirectory called 'cache' to whatever you type in), particularly the right drive letter?
Also, have you tried running Origin as admin?
Sorry, I'm not extremely smart when it comes to this stuff without a bit of training so it kind of goes over my head everything you just said but when I downloaded Origin onto this comp a whole bunch of files came up (below) I have them here and the reason Origin isn't there is because I moved it out of the file holding all of these but it is still on the computer.
Had the same problem. Just wanted to install the new EA app side by side, but by installing EA app it silently (no option whatsoever) removed Origin. Uninstalled EA app and had to install Origin through a third-party installer since I couldn't even find an EA official Origin download page. Everything just redirected to the "EA app" which doesn't seem to work with FIFA 23.
This is STILL an issue, not to mention anti-cheat was causing issues as far back as FIFA 22. Now that Origin isn't even available to download, FIFA 23 is unplayable. This is unacceptable, EA. Do something or refund my money.
Ridiculous. I was forced to update to EA but was able to uninstall and reinstall origin (from local save after previous issues with this title) but when I launch it's trying to force me to download EA app again with the EA app 'new home for gaming' splash. This is by far the shoddiest release of any game ever. It might be one for trading standards because no one can 'EA play'
When I click on Sims 3 to play it, it opens and tells me there has been an error and i need to install Origin to play, and if Origin is already installed i need to contact support, since Origin is already installed i decided to ask.. What do i do??? Also, this isn't the account i use for Origin, i signed in using the wrong email. my user name is Rodfet9
Ensure that your Firewall and/or Antivirus are not blocking the connection. The easiest way would be adding an exception for the Origin Client. You need to do this add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports -issues-with-origin/#1
I didn't have an antivirus when I first posted but now I have installed Norton... I'll add it but its not the problem since I didn't have it untill now... but now that I have Norton I get the old message and I get a different message sometimes saying "There was an error during startup. Please see the log for more details."
The admins should have posted the solution here days ago. Instead, they are probably laughing their * off at everyone who spent half a day trying to down load Origin. Thanks to all here that posted the link to the old version!!
I know this is a bit late. However, here's hoping it helps the next person. I had this same problem on my PC and found out that it was Originthinsetup that wouldn't download. I contacted EA and explained to them what was happening and they gave me a link this downloaded right away and with zero problems. This is the original platform for Origin. This link is for PC not sure if it can be used on MAC or not, I hope this helps.
I had the exact same problem, and I tried everything LITERALLY EVERYTHING they mentioned in the answers, and NOTHING WORKED, and then my sister was installing origin on her PC and she checked the stupid box and it worked for her, so I tried it on my PC and lo and behold I now have it installed.
I used to have just one HDD (D, with origin and games installed on it. I recently got a new SSD (C and I did a fresh install of windows onto it, moved across some apps and drivers, and told steam that my games were still on my old HDD, and it recognized them and I can play them instantly. Now, I've tried to do the same thing with origin. I went to application settings, and made the game installation directory my old HDD, in Program Files (x64) > Origin Games. I assumed it would be like Steam, and recognize them and no further downloading and installing would be necessary. When clicking on any game, it starts completely re-downloading the game, and skips no files, even though the game files are already in "Origin Games". Some please help ASAP because my internet is insanely slow (about 0.5MB/s) and for me to redownload over 100GB of games would be an utter nightmare and would quite literally take weeks. ]
My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.I'm a gamer like you, trying to help you (i'm not an EA employee).

So I installed origin and set my install location to be on my external hard drive. I installed Mass Effect 3 (my only game) there and I've been playing it just fine. Today though, after some messing around with drives on my computer, when I launched Origin, it said I had an invalid game install location, so I changed the download location to the Origin Games folder where Mass Effect 3 was installed. Despite this, Origin still doesn't see Mass Effect 3 so it won't let me play it, and won't let me delete it either. If I do click download, after the download is supposed to start, it just gives me an error message asking me to try again later. So I can't play, download, or delete and redownload Mass Effect 3. What do I do?? Has anyone else had this problem?
