how to start my first issue

Hello mentors and contributors, I have set up the development environment locally on my computer, and I’m eager to start contributing. I asked to be assigned to an issue, but I haven’t received any response yet. Could you please guide me on how I should properly get started contributing? I’m not sure if I’m approaching things the wrong way. I’ve already read all the documentation available on GitHub, but I still feel a bit unsure about the next steps.
