Generate subgraph of max 'k' nodes

Hi guys, I need to generate subgraphs of  maximum 'k' nodes for my research from a larger graph.

All of them? Just connected ones? A random sample? What have you tried so far?

Yes, all kinds of subgraphs are fine. I came across this pseudocode ( https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.304.2576&rep=rep1&type=pdf ), but am failing to implement it.
