Title            :        Sr. Engineer, Technical Support (Transport)

Location    :         Snoqualmie, WA

Duration   :         2-3 Months Contract

 

 

 The manager wants an Engineer to do technical support and be the SME for JDSU products they use,

1. Responsible for design & utilization for the physical network transport facilities for Switched access to support RIP activities 
2. Allocates circuit facilities assignment (CFA) for various bandwidths and updates the transport database (NRM) for type 2A, 2B, 2C, 800, type 1, LD and any other auxiliary trunks. 
3. Issues and Coordinate work orders and assist switch operations and provisioning for clarification as needed. 
4. Create Engineering design packages for project related activities. 
5. Provides daily/weekly updates and reports 6. updates various databases on project activities related to RIP 

4-6 years experience as a Transport Engineer 
GSM knowledge and/or experience 
Ability to interpret topography, network design maps 
Ability to interpret tariffs 
Strong personal computer skills required including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 
Expert understanding and knowledge of Granite 
Must have good oral and written communication skills 
Must have good time management skills 
Must have good understanding of a GSM Network and its components 
Must be able to work well under pressure 
Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime when required 

Expert-level of understanding and at least 5 yeasrs of work experience on JDSU EOAM Solutions. 
Expert-level of usage and troubleshooting of JDSU Vision EMS, Vision Act, NetComplete, NetOptimize, MSO/Collector NIDs and Cell Site NIDS. 
Expert-level understanding of Operations and Maintenance procedures and Advanced Troubleshooting techniques across multiple platforms. 
Strong understanding of system protocols and interfaces that are used within a wireless network. 
Ability to multitask and effectively handle multiple competing priorities. 
Strong understanding of GSM Network Signaling standards and protocols such as ISUP, MAP, BSSMAP/DTAP, SMS, TCP/IP required. 
Solid understanding of GSM/UTRAN network architecture and understands 3GPP specifications. 
Solid hands-on experience of GSM/UTRAN/IP Devices/Core Network Node and integration to the OSS Systems. 
Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills. 
Knowledge of SQL database structures, SQL database query writing, Unix shell scripting, Pearl, C++, Java scripts, and data manipulation. 
Knowledge of different standard interfaces (i.e. CORBA, LDAP, XML). 
Strong Unix/Linux/Oracle/Storage systems knowledge and adept on the related disciplines. 
CCNP/CCNA Certified and experience on OSS Administration is a plus.
