Job Title    :     Sr. LINUX Eng
Location    :   Germantown, MD. (Washington DC area)
Duration    :   3-6 months

 

Must Have : Kickstart AND iptables

 

Rate: $50/hr on C2C

 

The client is launching their “Newest” offering which is Satellite Service over Broadband (code name up there is Jupiter). This is a lab non-operational support role. Must haves (see below in Red). They

 

will consider a green card but not a H1. Phone screen, in-person, start next day if they are available. The position is RED HOT!!!

 

This is a 4 person internal infrastructure position and NOT A 24/7 Production environment. This environment supports about 50 folks (developers, testers, engineers, etc.)

 

This individual should have the following:
Red Hat/CentOS Linux experience (kickstart, iptables is a must, selinux is a plus)
Knowledge of vSphere 4 or higher environment
HP blade technology (Virtual connect is a plus…they could live w/out)

 

HNS is looking for a contract Systems Engineer with experience in Linux Operating System and IP networking. The candidate should have strong UNIX administration and network fundamentals and

 

be able to communicate and work in a team environment. Job responsibilities Datacenter configuration and design Installation of COTS software and hardware Maintenance and troubleshooting of

 

servers, storage and network devices Automation of installation, administration and monitoring with scripts Maintain and following software development and test process including development of

 

proper documentation. Required Skills Knowledge of HP BladeSystems and other rack mounted servers Virtualization experience: VMWare Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS

 

Installation experience with various COTS on UNIX DNS, LDAP, Radius experience Desired skills: SAN/NAS experience, NetApp a plus Clustering technologies Working with relational databases AD

 

experience SNMP Background: 4-5 years of experience BS in Information Technology or equivalent US Citizen
