Warmest wags - The Happy Tails Team
Brodie - lab/boxer? mix, tan/white/a single black eye, 9-12 months, 35-45lbs. Although she might look a bit sad in her photos, Brodie is actually a super friendly young girl, full of playful puppy energy. She zoomed, wiggled, and tried to entice us into a rousing round of "catch me in you can!" today. A bit goofy and very sweet. Brodie appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as a stray. UPDATE: Settling in well with her new foster!

Jensen - $175 sponsorship! Pittie mix, black/white, male, 6-7 months, 30-40lbs. Jensen is a little charmer, full of sweet puppy energy. He's playful, outgoing, and treat motivated. Walked well on the leash and responded well to "sit." Jensen appears overall healthy (and has had some level of care in the home, given his nicely trimmed and painted toenails). He came to the shelter as a stray.

Indie- pittie mix, red with white, female, 2-3y, 45-55lbs. SPAYED! UTD on vax! MICROCHIPPED! LYME/4DX NEG! Indica is an outgoing extrovert who was immediately thrilled to make our acquaintance today! She's affectionate and knows how to use her golden eyes to convince you to hand over more treats. UPDATE: Indie has been safe with an HTAR foster, getting the VIP treatment! This precious girl is ready to find her forever family. GREAT with other dogs and with small kids. Loves to play and chase balls.
Pansy - small Dane mix(?), black/white, female, 4-6y, 50-60lbs. Pansy was relaxed and easygoing with us today, and she walked great on the leash as she checked out the yard. She was friendly, polite, and had no complaints when we checked her over. Pansy appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as a stray.
Bruno - Cur mix, dusty tan/white, male, 3-5y, 45-55lbs. Bruno might be a bit shy at first but he came around quickly for us today, showing us his laidback, friendly temperament as we checked out the yard together. He's a leggy, handsome dog with a muscular build and a cute stubby tail, and appears overall healthy. Bruno came to the shelter as a stray.
Peggy - lab/shepherd mix, black with white toes, female, 2-4y, 58lbs. SUSPECTED SPAYED due to appropriate scar. Like Eliza, Peggy was brought to the shelter as a stray when animal control picked her up as an injured dog. She spent a few days hanging out with the vet where it was determined that she had most likely been hit by a car but fortunately didn't suffer lasting damage (for now, she has a healing scuff on her left rear leg from road rash.) Despite this, Peggy is a low-key, gentle girl. Both shelter and vet staff report that she's a real love, happy to go with the flow and just hang out. She gave us lots of wags and even shared a few licks today while we walked around the yard. Other than the above injury, Peggy appears overall healthy.
Happy - Hound/aussie? mix, gray/black/white, male, 1-2y, 45-55lbs. NEUTERED! Happy lives up to his name - he's a friendly, relaxed boy with a playful demeanor that helps him to make new friends everywhere he goes. In addition to being a delightful combination of "chill" and "charming", Happy is VERY cute with his merle coat and bicolor eyes. Happy appears overall healthy. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender with boxer mix Lucy.
Moose - lab mix, yellow, male, ~4y, 50-60lbs. NEUTERED! Moose is a total extrovert. He's thrilled to make your acquaintance and goes above and beyond to earn whatever treat you might have in your pocket (he showed us a perfect "sit" on first command!) He's a bit of a goof, playful and relaxed even with strangers. Moose appears overall healthy but does have suspected flea dermatitis on his lower back and tail with some associated hair loss. Moose came to the shelter as an owner surrender.
Carter - lab mix, chocolate brown, male, 1-2y, 50-60lbs. Carter is an overall chill guy, happy to go with the flow as long as he gets a little TLC included. He LOVES hanging out with people, even strangers, and readily flops over to ask for belly rubs as a hello! Carter showed us a picture perfect "sit" and is a total charmer with his gentle temperament. Carter appears overall healthy but he does have a touch of suspected flea dermatitis. He was treated with Capstar to handle his flea load. Carter came to the shelter as a stray.
Kyrie – Pyrenees/Bernie mix?, black/tan/cream, female, 3-4 months, 15-25lbs. Yes, Kyrie is just as soft as she looks! This puppy is a floofy girl with a cotton candy soft coat and she LOVES being loved on. She enjoys being snuggled and scritch, especially if she can climb onto an open lap. She's a playful pup with a bouncy pep in her step between snuggle sessions. Kyrie appears overall healthy but could use a grooming to handle some burrs stuck to her coat - DHPP 8/26. Kyrie came to the shelter as a stray.
Dozer - pittie mix, brindle/white, male, 1-2y, 35-45lbs. Dozer is a compact gentleman who was absolutely overflowing with joy when it was time to visit with us today. He's playful, and was thrilled to stretch his legs and romp in the yard. In addition to his extroverted attitude, he's a total love - between rounds of fetch, he was coming back to lean in for hugs and affection. Dozer appears overall healthy. He came to the shelter as a stray.
Speckle - heeler/pittie mix, red/white, male, 4-6y, 40-50lbs. Speckle is an outgoing boy who was full of non-stop wags during our meeting today. He was thrilled to explore every inch of the yard and happily played fetch as we got to know him. A definite extrovert! Speckle does have some hair loss on his lower back and tail due to suspected flea dermatitis and is in need of a serious dental due to what is most likely heavy chewing. Speckle came to the shelter as a stray with Shelby.
Shelby - heeler or cattle dog mix, red/white, female, 4-6y, 35-45lbs. Shelby is a super friendly girl who was over-the-moon to make our acquaintance today, showing us endless happy full-body wiggles and happy licks in greeting. She's playful, and a curious girl who did her best to convince us to check out every inch of the play yard. Affectionate temperament. Shelby appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as a stray with Speckles.
Lucy - boxer mix, tricolor, female, 1-2y, 35-45lbs. SPAYED! Lucy is understandably overwhelmed in the chaos and noise of shelter. Once away from the noise, she quickly relaxed and showed us the real her - gentle, sweet, and happy to just share space with a kind person. Her entire butt wags with happiness, not just her little stub tail. Lucy appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with Happy.
Corinne - shepherd/husky mix, cream/white, female, 8-10y, 55-65lbs. Corinne is a low-key lady, happy to just hang out and enjoy the sunshine. She was friendly with us right away and had no problems with us giving her coat a quick brushing. Very gentle with taking treats. Corinne appears overall healthy but could use a more thorough grooming and a dental. She came to the shelter as a stray.
Taryn - hound mix, black/white, female, 1-2y, 35-45lbs. Taryn is an easygoing gal with a friendly temperament. She was down to make new buddies right away and is very treat motivated. Her ears are super cute, alternating between flat and perked up. Bouncy and playful! Taryn appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as a stray.
Poppy - Catahoula mix, gray/black, female, 9-12 months, 30-40lbs. Poppy is a total charmer! She's very playful, a bit goofy, and wants to check out everything and everybody she sees. Poppy would likely do best in a home that can give her the chance to stretch and romp every day. Adorable! Poppy appears overall healthy. She came to the shelter as a stray. DHPP 8/26
GiGi - chihuahua mix, brown/white, female, 3-5y, ~5lbs. GiGi is a tiny slip of a dog, petite and thoroughly chi! Her preferred mode of getting around is being carried but she happily explored the play yard today, tail high and nose in action. GiGi could use a dental and is diagnosed with a seizure disorder - she takes daily pentobarbital to keep them under control, which reportedly works well for her. She came to the shelter T.T. and Hokie after their former owner passed away.
Hokie + T.T - 2 Chihuahua mixes; T.T. - tricolor male 4-5y 5-10lbs, Hokie - blond male 8-10y 10-15lbs. BOTH NEUTERED! SENIOR ALERT! Hokie is a cute little chihuahua/yorkie mix with an adorable pep in his step. He happily pranced across the yard with us today, enjoying the sunshine and our companionship. He has already lost most of his teeth but could use a dental, and appears to have some standard senior stiffness in his hips. T.T. is very scared in the loud shelter, so was more hesitant with us today. Both Hokie and T.T. came to the shelter due to their former owner passing away, along with GiGi.
Lady - hound mix, tricolor, female, 2-4y, 50-60lbs. SPAYED! Lady's former owner describes her as "absolutely the best dog" - good with kids, strangers, and even pigs. She was calm and friendly with us today despite just being surrendered. She walked easily on the leash and was very gentle with taking a treat. Lady appears overall healthy and is reportedly UTD on vaccinations; unfortunately, records are not available. Lady came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to a landlord dispute.
