Subject: Sweet German Shepherd- Dermatitis- Seeking Rescue! (Baldwin, MD)
Meet Ryan! Ryan came to the shelter as an owner surrender after his owners were facing housing troubles and had no place for Ryan to go.
They reported that he previously lived with dogs, cats and children! They also said he may bark at strangers but there is no further escalation and it is typical breed standard behaviors. At the shelter, Ryan enjoys going on walks after he warms up to you. He is happy to look to his handler for attention and pets. He is very food motivated too and even knows sit. He was a little nervous of the more reactive dogs he passed by in his kennel but showed no concerns with calmer dogs. During his veterinary examination, Ryan presented with dermatitis and otitis. We currently have him started on treatment and are hopeful he improves. Due to his medical at this time we are hoping a rescue organization is able to pull him who can continue his treatment and has experience with his breed. If his skin and ear infection do not improve while on treatment than he may require further diagnostics.
Name: Ryan
ID #: 8375
Age: 1 year old
Weight: 56l bs
Breed: German Shepherd
Color: black/brown
Health Concerns: dermatitis, otitis
Behavior: friendly, likes pets, no major concerns at this time
Available for Adoption through BCAS: Not at this time
Available for Foster through BCAS: Not at this time
If your rescue is able to pull Ryan, please email bcasr...@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Thank you!
