Subject: 3 Injured Cats STILL in Need of URGENT Rescue! (Baldwin, MD)

Baltimore County Animal Services is seeking urgent rescue placement for 3 kitties who are still in need. Their first pleas received no rescue interest and we are hoping they can get out of the shelter asap for further healing and diagnostics. They are all comfortable at this time and doing well on their medication and treatment plans but we are looking for urgent rescue placement for each one.

Meet Moo! Moo came to us as a stray and the finder indicated that he thought the cat may have been hit by a car. Moo has a suspected pelvic fracture but exhibited a weight bearing lameness of both hind legs. He has a waddling gait and normal tail tone. Radiographs would be needed to better assess the degree of injury. We are keeping him comfortable at this time during his stray hold but are looking to place him with a rescue partner immediately due to the extent of his medical needs. He is a sweet boy despite his injuries and what he has gone through. Moo is looking for a second chance and we are hopeful we can find that for him!

Name: Moo

Age: 2.5 years old

Gender: male

Weight: 9.1lbs

Color: grey tabby

Health Concerns: suspected hit by car, weight bearing lameness bilaterally of hind legs, suspected pelvic fracture

Behavior Concerns: friendly, no concerns at this time

Available for Adoption through BCAS: no

Available for Foster through BCAS: no

Meet Paddy! Paddy came to the shelter as a stray in pretty rough condition. He has a body condition score of 3 out of 9 and possible lameness in his hind end. It could be a pelvic fracture but further diagnostics and radiographs may be needed. Paddy was quick to overstimulate on his examination so it was hard to get a good gauge when palpating his hip area, this may have been due to pain though. There were no obvious long bone fractures upon palpation. We are monitoring him closely and have started him on a treatment plan and pain medication to keep him comfortable. Due to the extent of his injury and need for further diagnostics we are hoping to place him with a rescue organization that can ensure his medical needs are appropriately met.

Meet Leo! Leo came to Baltimore County Animal Services as a stray after a Good Samaritan noticed he was limping one day, she had seen him outside frequently before but with this new injury knew she needed to step in and help. Upon veterinarian examination Leo was non-weight bearing on his right front leg, has pectus excavatum (chest wall deformity) and rear declaws. We have started him on a treatment plan and medication to keep him comfortable. He is a very friendly boy who deserves a second chance! He loves cheek scratches despite the pain he may have been in. We are hoping he heals up but he may need further diagnostics and radiographs. Due to the extent of his medical needs at this time we are looking to place him with a rescue organization asap!
