Christa came to the shelter as a devoted mama, raising her puppies with incredible care despite the stress of the environment. One by one, her babies found their homes, and now Christa is patiently waiting for her own forever family.
At first, Christa can be a little shy when meeting new people. She prefers to hang back, quietly observing from a distance. But if you’re not looking, don’t be surprised if she sneaks up for a curious little sniff — it’s her gentle way of saying she’s interested. In her kennel, she’s typically calm and quiet, often napping, but she’s always ready to greet visitors with a wagging tail and a big, happy smile.
Once she’s out and about, her playful side really starts to shine. She gets so excited to leave her kennel that she may pull on the leash, but with a bit of guidance and consistency, she’ll quickly improve. In new spaces, Christa may take a moment to settle in, but treats help win her over — and toys? That’s when the magic happens. Bring out a toy, and suddenly this sweet girl is bouncing with joy, showing off her fun, energetic personality.
Christa warms up beautifully once she feels comfortable. Before long, she’ll be coming up for attention, especially if you’re offering her favorite thing in the world: butt scratches. Give her a few, and you’ll have a best friend for life.
She’s done well in playgroups with both male and female dogs, though she can get a little flirty with the boys and may be a bit possessive if other females are competing for attention. With the right introductions and guidance, she has the potential to be a great companion.
Christa is looking for a home that will be patient as she builds trust, but also ready to embrace her playful, affectionate spirit. If you can offer her love, encouragement, toys, and plenty of those beloved butt scratches, she’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of heart.
