This sweet girl was owner surrendered through no fault of her own. Her owner, a single father of four, made the heartbreaking decision after realizing he could no longer provide the level of care she deserves, and one of his children has allergies.
Her former family describes her as friendly, affectionate, and eager for attention. She’s calm yet playful, enjoys walks, does well on leash, and is housebroken. She can be kenneled or crated, has no separation anxiety or destructive behaviors, and does well with both babies and teenagers. While she hasn’t lived with other animals, she does not fixate on or attempt to chase them during walks. Loud noises can startle her, but overall, she is a gentle, easygoing companion who simply wants love and attention.
During her dog test, she greeted politely with calm sniffing and coexisted gently. She became conflicted only when very pushy dogs jumped on her. She would thrive with respectful, calm canine companions.
At intake, she was noted to be underweight with sores on her lower legs and paws and mild calluses/pressure lesions. She also has several concerning masses, including a large fluid-filled mass on her back left leg and smaller firm masses along her mammary chain, as well as severe dental disease with tartar, gingivitis, and worn teeth.
Our veterinarians recommend further assessment of her masses (including potential biopsy or removal) and future dental care. A full medical summary is available upon request.
