Meet Rocky
![]()
Rocky was surrendered to our shelter for not being good with the small children in the home. While he was not aggressive with them, he would knock them over and jump on them. Due to this behavior, we recommend he not go to a home with young children. His previous owner reported he was housebroken and crate trained. His previous owner reported he would also bark a lot when left alone but they only owned him for one day so this behavior may improve with time and a consistent schedule and training.
Here at the shelter Rocky has shown some standoffish and high stress behaviors in the kennel but once he is outside of the kennel his true personality shines through. He becomes bubbly and happy to engage with his handler. On a recent buddy walk with another dog, Rocky showed positive social interest in the other dog, was not overly pushy and was respectful of the other dog’s space. When engaging through a barrier, he was more exuberant, play, bowing, and barking to solicit play, but was easy to disengage and move along. Rocky could do well with other resident dog(s) in a home with a proper two week shutdown and acclimation period. Rocky is very smart and very eager to in engage in training games. Training his boy should be a breeze.
Rocky is available for adoption, foster or rescue placement through the shelter.
