Parker was found as a stray on 1/11, arriving at BARCS underweight with a body condition score of 2/9. From the moment he came in, though, Parker showed everyone exactly who he is, an incredibly loving, affectionate sweetheart who just wants to be close to his people.
Parker went to foster shortly after arriving at the shelter. His foster describes him as very sweet, calm, and emotionally connected. While he has moderate play energy, his favorite things are cuddling, eating, and low-key play like tug-of-war with rope toys.
He’s still settling into a routine and continuing to build confidence. Parker had some house-training setbacks related to recent illness, stress, and extremely cold weather (which he strongly dislikes), but when conditions are comfortable, he does very well.
On leash, Parker generally walks nicely and calmly. He can be a bit hesitant at first in new situations, but once reassured, he walks by your side with minimal pulling and no reactivity toward other dogs. He’s friendly and outgoing with adults and shows happy curiosity toward children he sees from a distance.
Parker is otherwise healthy, with the exception of being underweight, and a complete medical summary can be provided upon request.
