Managed Intake Program – Rescue Opportunity
🚨 RESCUE SUPPORT NEEDED – DOGS NOT IN SHELTER 🚨
These dogs are still in their homes, and their owners are actively working to rehome them to avoid shelter intake. Owners may also be independently marketing their dogs.
We welcome and encourage rescue involvement before the scheduled intake date (the date they would otherwise be surrendered).
If you’re interested, please contact Baylie to receive the owner’s contact information and coordinate a meet-and-greet directly.
We’re happy to help gather additional photos, information, or testing/vaccines when possible, but please note we cannot require owners to comply. We will always communicate as much as we can to support your efforts.
⏳ Acting early gives these dogs the best chance to avoid entering the shelter.

🚨 RESCUE HELP NEEDED – LEXINGTON COUNTY (SC) 🚨
Lexington County Animal Services is in need of assistance placing these dogs with 501(c)(3) rescues only. While we exhaust every available resource, due to ongoing overcrowding, dogs may become at risk of euthanasia once surrendered.
These dogs are currently still in their homes, and we are working to secure placement before intake whenever possible.
We can request additional photos or videos from owners when needed.
📩 Rescue inquiries are monitored Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (EST), and responses are sent as quickly as possible.
Please contact Baylie directly at bfuh...@lexingtoncounty.sc.gov for any dogs you are interested in pulling—she will provide owner contact information so you can coordinate meet-and-greets directly.
When inquiring, please include:
• Animal ID number (required – not just name)
• The name of your rescue organization
⏳ Acting quickly helps keep these dogs out of the shelter and gives them the best chance at placement.
Thank you!
