ZARA - I have requested this pound and the county officials over and over to provide decent photos. There are LOUSY photos galore being sent out. STILL. Is there no pride in doing a job properly or any accountability? 

They continue to send out terrible photos - I had to brighten it up (again) to see the dog - the dark photo is how Zara arrived in my inbox and everyone else's. IS THERE NO LEADERSHIP OR ANYONE WHO CARES IN LEXCO? -Jen    COUNTLESS DOGS HIGH RISK OF DEATH AND THIS IS WHAT THEY SEND TO US OVER & OVER.

Zara (A056029) **TIME IS UP ON 6/08** NEEDS RESCUE COMMITMENT ASAP to avoid E-list NEXT WEEK

 

Breed/Type: Staffy mix  

Age: 5 years  

Sex: Female- unspayed  

Weight: 50 lbs  

Heartworm Status: testing this week (short staffed)  

Dog-friendly? Yes, currently kenneled with Zadie  

Notes/What We Know: Zara's eyes and scars tell a story we'll never fully know. Found as a stray, this gentle girl has clearly had a difficult past. Whether her scars came from life on the streets or something worse, Zara has endured more than her fair share. Despite it all, she remains sweet, mellow, and kind. She deserves the chance to leave her past behind and finally experience the love and security every dog deserves.  

URGENT: We are currently over capacity, and  we are losing 18 kennels due to renovations. As an open-admission shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. All animals who have passed their hold times are at immediate risk once their hold time is up. Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia 

 

Lexington County Services in Lexington, South Carolina is in need of assistance placing these dogs with a rescue! These are available to a 501c3 rescue only.  We do exhaust every resource possible but unfortunately due to overcrowding dogs do become at risk of being euthanized. We can provide additional photos, video, vaccines, heartworm tests, health certificates, RABIES VACCINES or any behavioral assessments that may be needed

The phone number is 803-465-5726. We respond to rescue inquiries Monday through Friday 8am-5pm(EST) and it is checked regularly. We offer free transportation Monday through Friday during business hours locally which would be the area of Lexington County, City of Columbia, or Richland County. Our staff is very passionate about getting all of these wonderful dogs to safety and will help in any way possible!

 

When inquiring about a dog, an animal ID number is required and not just their name.
