AID: A306534 Tizzy
Age: 3y
Sex: Spayed Female
Weight: 40 lbsHeartworm status: Negative
Intake: Stray, available for adoption 4/15/25

Dog Assessment: Tizzy has blossomed during her time in playgroups, growing from a somewhat cautious participant into a confident and social playmate. She eagerly enters the yard, initiates play, and enjoys engaging with other dogs in both gentle and more active play styles. Even when other dogs become reactive or she feels overwhelmed, Tizzy has demonstrated appropriate social skills and good communication, offering corrections when needed and responding well to handler guidance.
There is something especially endearing about this petite girl. While she can appear a little sad and timid in her kennel, she quickly warms up once given time and patience. Tizzy walks beautifully on leash, takes treats gently, and has wonderfully polite manners. Staff members have been especially fond of her calm, affectionate nature, noting that she often chooses to stay close to her people and quietly soak up attention. Sweet, gentle, and increasingly confident, Tizzy has all the makings of an exceptional companion.

URGENT - TIME SENSITIVE
- The following dogs are at risk for euthanasia due to space IMMEDIATELY (6/2/26)
These dogs have been with us the longest, waiting patiently while the shelter grows fuller by the day. Sadly, their time is running short. Although we are doing everything we can to hold them safely, when kennel space fills, these long-stay dogs are the first in jeopardy. Rescue commitments and timely pickups can truly mean the difference between life and death.
We want to work hand in hand with our 501c3 rescue partners to find safe placement and give these dogs the chance they deserve. Please reach out with any interest, questions, or to start a dialogue—we are here to collaborate in every way we can.
If you can help, please reach out to us as soon as possible at res...@columbiasc.gov or (803) 376-3723
