Title:Sex-workers, dairy cows and hospitalised patients
Abstract:Social interactions can be described via networks by associating nodes to individuals or animals and links between pairs of them to represent specific social relations. The dynamic structure of such social networks reveals patterns of interactions and provides a global picture of the inter-dependencies between the parts of the social system. In this talk, we will briefly discuss the dynamic structural properties of 3 social networks, a sexual contact network between sex-workers and their clients in Brazil, the evolution of social ties between confined dairy cows in France, and proximity interactions between hospitalised patients in Sweden. We will also briefly talk about some implications of these structures on the regulation of infectious diseases.
