Unix Training! Need Help !

Hi

 

Fahad bhai I got selected  for the Unix training . I will need your help to  excel in this training .. very few and the best people  have been selected and the competion is going to  be really tough.It is a  big oppurtunity for me to learn this technology  It is not known which flavour of Unix we will be trained on  but I think it would be Sun Solaris , not sure though  .I will communicate it shortly , I thought of giving you all heads up so that the people here can help me with this training

To be honest, I have no idea about Unix, but yes, if you let me know what kind of assistance you need, I am sure, I'll do something to provide it to you in which ever way possible.

Its official!!! It is Solaris !!!,Today  the training started and we were told that we will be trained on Solaris, Fahad bhai you are absolutely right  all Unix are same.They may  have different frame  but  all the commands , utilities and features are almost same be it HP UX,IBM AIX ,Sun Solaris,IRIX silicon graphics or Linux RedHat.We started with the training and  it started with Solaris OS architechture (Shell ,Kernel.h/w.),Server types (Entry Level types Rack Mountable,Mid-Range ,High End ,SFV types etc  ), Versions of Solaris(Sys 5,Solaris7,9 and so on),shell types(Standard ,Bourne,Korn,C shell), The Hardware configuration of Unix Servers ( SCSI Harddisk in Unix servers ECC RAM,SPARC CPU ))Mirroring concept,(multiple HDD),concept of Tracks,Cylinders ,Cylinder groups ,splinder and platter etc, there were lot more concepts.Training module  is awesome,I am not sure if this is the right place to discuss this technology but I think there is no harm to list it here.It will help me in every day revision!!! :)  :).Guys if you have any  suggestions like  any website ,or any videos or any forum for this, please BUZZ me .Fahad Bhai your Linux link was awesome ,it helped me a lot .looking forward for your help
