Hello,

I'm wondering if there's any implementation out there of a Netty ByteProcessor that allows to find a byte sequence, rather than a single byte. I couldn't find anything on Netty itself. Found this one, but it looks unfinished:

If nothing exists, would that be a welcome contribution? Proposing a pull-request to Netty is always a good learning exercise :)

Cheers,
Leo.

As far as I know there is none... so yes contributions are always welcome

For what purpose do you need to find a byte sequence? Is it a delimiter of some sort? In which case, perhaps a https://netty.io/4.0/api/io/netty/handler/codec/DelimiterBasedFrameDecoder.html is what you need?

Also, I don't think that the interface necessarily prevents you from identifying a sequence, simply stop when you have observed the sequence, rather than just the byte in question.
