Hi!
I new at Netsuite and I know this is a very basic question. But I can
´t find the answer anywhere.
If a person is a donor (client) and a volunteer (vendor because of the
expenses or others), do I really have to duplicate the information? Do
I have to have that person two times in the system without any
connection?

Look up "other relationship" in the online help.
There is no duplication as long as you first create the customer
record and then edit the customer record you just created and add an
"other relationship" for vendor.
