I obtained a certificate from Verisign and was unable to install it onto
my Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0 sp2. A javascript error pops up,
"Unexpected Failure: cannot write
There was an error while writing certificate file".
I tried to remove the <server-root>/alias/*.db and re-created the trust
database but problem still exist. Any suggestions??

I've seen the same error message at a client site when trying to install
a Verisign certificate. The problem there was that the certificate
request was made from within the IWS admin server but the client was
trying to install the certificate under a different web instance. If
you want certificates for both the admin server and additional web
servers, you will need to complete the request and install process for
each server i.e. you need separate certificates for each individual
server instance. We used the 28 day trial certificate available from
Verisign to test this.
