Unable to get AdBlock Plus v1.1 working under SeaMonkey v1.1.17 in Linux.

I read http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_install#seamonkey_autoinstall and
tried to make it work with my SeaMonkey v1.1.17 that I downloaded and
extracted, but I am not getting ABP v1.1 to show up correctly. I get a
big blank menu piece on the bottom of the Web browser above its status
bar with a red ^ on the left side. A screen shot:

http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_install#seamonkey_autoinstall seems to be
outdated/wrong as well: "To install Adblock Plus the following files
must be copied over into the new SeaMonkey application directory:
* chrome/adblockplus.jar
* components/nsAdblockPlus.js
* components/nsAdblockPlus.xpt
* defaults/pref/adblockplus.js"
I assume I extract all these to my global SeaMonkey directory (not my
local profiles) in /home/Programs/seamonkey/... I do NOT see the two
nsAdblockPlus.* files in my downloaded
https://addons.mozilla.org/downloads/latest/1865/adblock_plus-1.1.xpi
copy, but I did try to copy AdblockPlus.js (renaming to AdblockPlus.js
didn't help either). *.xpt did not exist.
Here's what I have now:

I think any version beyond AdBlock Plus 1.01 requires Firefox 3.5 or
SeaMonkey 2.x.
On the AdBlock Plus "Installation" page for Adblock Plus 1.1, it states:
"Minimal requirements: Firefox 3.0.9, Thunderbird 3.0 Beta 3, *SeaMonkey
2.0 Beta 1*, Songbird 1.2, Prism 1.0 Beta 1."

Go to Mozdev at <http://www.mozdev.org/> for quick access to
extensions for Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and other
Mozilla-related applications. You can access Mozdev much
more quickly than you can Mozilla Add-Ons.

Wow, I never noticed that but how it worked in my Windows XP machines
with SeaMonkey v1.1.17? :(

Yeah, its a little hard to find, you have to scroll completely down on
ADB+ AMO Page, but there are also older Versions:
