its using something called bgsound. This is specific
to microsoft only. This is why it only works for IE
and not a mozilla based product. That being said, there
are a few things you can do.
First: you can contact the webmaster of that site, and
tell him to fix it, so people with other browsers can
view his site. Tell him to use the embeded tag sound
and not the embeded bgsound.
or, you can use IE only for these type of sites.
or, you can use the extension IETab:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/1419#version-1.3.3.20070528.
This is the last version that works for SM. This
extension will let you use IE within SM.
or, this is a complicated one but its one that I use.
However, you still won't hear sound until you activate
it, and you've got to know there is sound on that site.
You need the extensions greasemonkey:
http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#greasemonkey,
but in order to work it, you need xsidebar installed
aswell: http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/installation.html.
Once you've got all this installed, then you need this
script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/4278. Once
that is installed, then you visit your site, hold the
shift key + ctrl key + the letter C and that will
refresh the page, and start playing the sound. The
downside to all this is when you install the next
version of SM 1.1.x, you also need to reinstall
xsidebar and greasemonkey.

you're right, comcast has nothing to do with it. Its
someones personal website, and you'll find that
information at the bottom of that page.

I thought that worked only for embedded media-it displays some controls
and u can select which media player to open with.
