No, since I migrated my profile, I've added two newsgroup accounts with
no issue at all.

But i have, when a newsserver was automatically added by clicking on a
link. It was <http://enigmail.mozdev.org/support/newsgroup.php>.
The culprit was a line in the prefs.js:
user_pref("mail.server.server8.valid", false);

Should be 'wish'.

Okay, the two groups I added were direct, via Account Settings.

I had issues with new.mozdev.org as well (public.mozdev.prefbar). But I
think it was a case of me messing up the 'mozdev' username. Can't recall
exactly what I did to fix it, but it seems to be working just fine now.

Obviously you don't have the MIDF. *g*

This was a bug in 2.0RC1 but was fixed, or should have been before the
final release.
If you do Help->About you should see the about: page and the build
identifier which should be something like:
Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1;
rv:1.9.1.5pre) Gecko/20091021 Lightning/1.0pre SeaMonkey/2.0.1pre
On your screen what is the eight digit number after Gecko/ ?

On mine it says :
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4)
Gecko/20091017 Lightning/1.0pre SeaMonkey/2.0
Is it the right version? 'Check for updates' tells me my installation is
up to date.
Sorry- the above is me. I overwrote my account name while changing
server settings.
Can someone help here? I can't configure any more accounts and it's
really frustrating :(
I'm using a fresh profile, i.e. I never used version 1.x so didn't have
to migrate anything.

Did you searche the prefs.js for user_pref("mail.server.server8.valid",
false);? The number behind server will probably be different.
Hartmut
Thanks, that worked. Shouldn't this be reported as a bug?
