Why is TB unable to create a backup from itself? Why isn't it possible
to create one big archive-file with all mails, settings, add-ons, etc in it?
Please don't tell me how to create a backup manualy - I know how to do.
But, if you backup your important data, as all computer users should,
why not just add your TB profile to your regular backup routine?
Why should it be the responsibility of the application to do what we all
should be doing anyway? Does Word backup all your doc files? For that
matter, does Outlook do a regular backup of its data? (I don't know, I
don't use either, if they do, please educate me.)
The only applications I have the do their own backups are Firefox and
SeaMonkey, which do backup their bookmarks, I've never needed that, I
have my own backups.
Why should an application be responsible for something we should all be
doing anyway?

Because only the application is know corect how to reintegrate backuped
data into itself. I don't only mean the mail. I mean settings, accounts,
everything!
Don't take a look at outlook - it is bad!
Don't aks for doc-files. A doc-file (or something like that) is not a
part of an appication. It is a "standard"-file and can be opened with
each other application and instance.
An office suite should backup their settings, too.
Do you know of an office suite that does?
Lee
Actually both Word and Outlook can be setup to automatically backup
files. I don't use these options though.

I used to use Outlook 97/2000 and I didn't think it was bad. It just
doesn't support newsgroups. And I thought Outlook Express v6 was a bit
better than Outlook 2000.
