There's a rather recent entry in Hyatt's blog about adding soft hyphen
support in Safari.

Mozilla is missing this since a long time :
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9101

I posting this to try to share thoughts about how Dave could say that
about the change :
"I thought about just taking the Mozilla route and punting on soft
hyphens (i.e., changing KHTML to always hide them), but it turned out to
be no harder to just make KHTML work properly with them"

I can't imagine what trick he found to make this easy to implement.
Soft hyphen really seems to me an hard recursive problem in layout due
to the varying width if you decide, or not, to break on it.

KHTML/Webcore is open source, so at some time it will be possible to get
a look and there might be some interesting ideas coming out by seeing
how this is done.
