to get some traction on how the locales are doing before I end up with
approval requests.
Don't mind RC3, if we do one (we may) it will be en-US only.

Not sure I could reproduce it but whith Firefox 1.5RC1 last night I
clicked on the update link aand it said that it could not verify the
validity of the patch therefore he would download the full program, I
let it do so for a few seconds and then I chaned my mind and closed
Firefox. When I tried again the update window would not work, it was
always showing "oonnecting to update server". I also tried with a fresh
profile. I had to uninstall/resinstall RC1 entirely and then it worked
fine and downloaded the patch to RC2.

I tested the binary diff update for Polish (pl) Firefox and it works OK
for these update paths:
* Windows (tested on Windows 2003):
- 1.5b2 -> 1.5rc2
- 1.5rc1 -> 1.5rc2
* Linux (tested on a not-very-up-to-date Gentoo ;-))
- 1.5b2 -> 1.5rc2
- 1.5rc1 -> 1.5rc2
However, I've got a report from (as a comment in my weblog
http://marcoos.wordpress.com/2005/11/15/15-rc-2/#comment-65 ) saying
that the binary diff sometimes fails and the update system forces the
user to download the whole new version. I can't verify it, though.
Mac update hasn't been tested yet, I currently can't do it, but I'll ask
our Camino owner if he can help us, as soon as I see him online. :)

That would be which locale?

Works nice in Catalan version (1.5RC1->1.5RC2). Tested in Windows and
Linux.

Even 1.5RC1->1.5RC2 (it, Linux) is fine.
Cheers, Giacomo.

Ciao, Francesco.
I have just finished smoketests and BFTs of the 1.5rc2 (pl) on Windows,
using litmus.mozilla.org.
Everything is perfectly fine, with the exception of
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316542 , but I'm not sure
if this is really Firefox's fault.
I've also been using the Linux rc2 pl build for some time now (haven't
done any smoketests/BFT for this one yet, I'm exhausted after the
Windows ones ;-)) but it seems to be ok, as well.
That user now says he downloaded the old version and updated to rc2 once
again and can no longer reproduce the problem.

It worked for me (de) on Windows XP (RC1->RC2), but I also noticed that
it didn't work for some others, however I don't know how much that is
related to the localization, probably not at all.

The more easy way would have been to go to the FF-Dir and delete
update*. I think it was an ini and a path. I had this problem in the
beginning of the "new" update.

Windows: 1.5b2 -> 1.5RC2 works. Locale: Romanian (ro).

RC2 in Basque language (eu) tested deeply for Lin, Win and MacOS.
Updates from RC1->RC2 working fine.
SomkeTest done. We've found a bug with search plugins:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316750
... one question ... what should be the value of the app.update.url
string when we do "about:config" ??
thanks,
ibon
Hello Axel. Just writing you to let you know that our l10n team (es-ES)
