I download firefox browser extension (Bookmark to Favorites) by Torisugari.
When I used it I lost all of my original favorites. I want to know how to
get those back and this add-on should be removed from the download as it is
full of nonsense and actually destroys original data already on the
computer.

Chang,

I'm not sure the *right* people will see your message here. I agree,
leaving a dangerous extension lying around is *not* a good idea. Is there
somewhere on the official extension page a contact for comment to the
maintainer of the page?

I doubt you have any easy way of recreating the original bookmarks, unless
you have a backup of them . :-(
However, if you have something like Norton Utilities previously installed
this *might* help

BTW, if you had read some of the comments written at
https://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=336&vid=1017&page=comments
by previous users of this extension, you would have seen that at least one
got the same results as you did.

As regards transferring your FF bookmarks over to IE favorites format, why
not just use the option proviided with IE (File|Import and Export... menu).
I'm not sure whether the IE Import/Export Wizard overwrites the previous
items or not.

Rob.

In article <cn7msq$l1...@ripley.netscape.com>,
dislexi...@NOSPAMyahoo.com.invalid says...
For the time being at least, I periodically import my FF bookmarks into
IE, thereby keeping a backup copy of the bookmarks and keeping IE up and
ready to go if and whenever I need it for something.

However, some small problems I had on the PR release seem to be gone now
and that's very encouraging.

I am still using 1.0PR because a couple of the main extensions I use have
not been updated yet :-(

As far as backing up FF bookmarks, I use an extension called <surprise,
surprise> 'Bookmark Backup' version 0.3.1 9 (AFAIK, the latest version).

Rob.
