Themes for Mozilla/Firefox/Thunderbird

I was considering composing a theme but found
little info on how to go about this.

I visited mozilla site (including dev) but found
nothing. It might be there but I don't know
where to find it.

I have been looking for a suitable ng but did
not find one - I may on the wrong group here.

Can anyone direct me to an outline of the basics
of composing a skin for these browsers/mailers?
