I've installed 2 Java JRE's, the 1.5.0_20 Java version and the 1.6.0_03.
Usually my Firefox (3.0.10) works with the Java 1.6 version.
OS is Windows XP prof.
How can I switch to the JRE 1.5.0_20 version with the Firefox?
I changed the plugin.scan.SunJRE entry in about:config to 9.9 and copied the
JRE 5 np*.dll's into the plugins folder %ProgramFiles%\Mozilla
Firefox\plugins.
Nevertheless everytime when Firefox is downloading a JNLP, I see the Java 6
dialog appearing.
What may be the reason?
How to force Firefox to use the JRE 1.5.0_20 version?

I don't have a clue, but you should know this: the next
version of firefox, which will be 3.6 and later, will
not work with anything below java 6 update 10

What a pity! A lot of applications still work with Java 5 oder even lower
and are not compatible with Java 6. A reason not to upgrade to Firefox 3.6
for now.
