Image alignment problem (images in tables)

Which tag exactly gives the problem?
I think using transparent.gif (one pixel gif) it should be possible to
align most of the stuff -- and in my experience it works with IE/NS on PC as
well as Mac.
Of course, the moment you use absolutely positioned DIV tags or nest them
within tables, you run into problems... but otherwise, it should be
possible.
