Has Winamp.com been optimized for IE?

I couldn't believe it. I just reformatted my computer and installed
Communicator 4.79. I then installed WinAmp 2.78 and went on their web
site to download plug ins and skins.
Everything....was.....soo.....slow. It took approximately 40-60 seconds
to load each page in the plugin and skin sections. Yet, Internet
Explorer 5.5 loaded each page very quickly. Plus, I noticed that the
quick help instructions at the bottom of each page contained screen
shots from Internet Explorer. I found that the instructions wouldn't
always apply if using Netscape. Does anybody else have this problem?
Do I need to install Netscape 6 just so I can browse an AOL site? If
so, I need to install the browser only, because 6.2.1's news and mail
programs are terrible!
