A strange thing happened on the way to opening my email. I have been a
user of the Netscape browser for many years. On this particular morning
(Sep. 30), I was presented with an entirely different screen from
Netscape saying that I have to change my "Screen Name" because it is
conflicting. My old user ID and password were disallowed so I tried the
other option, which was to obtain another Screen Name. I then found out
that I had inadvertently changed my email address and no longer have
access to my email or to my list of addressees.

I quickly sent an email to Netscape technical support asking advice on
how to rectify my situation and received no response. I have
subsequently sent emails to other points within the Netscape system and
to AOL (parent company) and have received exactly one response: an
automated one that states that they have received my email. I have
consulted news groups and have found some people with the same problem
and response from Netscape.

My only other recourse now is to find a different email package and key
in my addressees. At that point I can send email to my correspondents
informing them of the change to my email address and that everything
sent to me from Sep. 30 on is irretrievably lost.

When did customer service become and oxymoron?
