Please help: Server hangs under heavy load

Hello,
We are running netscape 3.6 svc pack 3 using NSAPI on a sun 450 solaris 2.6
. The netscape server hangs almost everyday when it is under heavy
load. We do have lots of traffic on this server. The server has 1 GB
memory.
We seem to be okay under the off-peak loads. I do see lots of
write failed (broken pipe) error messages throughout the day in the errors
log file. We are running a broadvision application 4.1 .
