I was trying to use Netscape Dircetory Server 4.2 with
ssl server authentication.
I have a test certificate from thawte valid until the
15 of december.
I got the certificate because I generated a
certificate request from the Netscape Directory
Server.
I imported this certificate into the certificate
database of the server.
I imported this certificate as a trusted certificate
into the java keystore my java program uses.
When I start the program I have the following error
message:

javax.naming.CommunicationException: localhost:636.
Root exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLException:
untrusted server cert chain

So there is something with my keystore.
I imported this certificate into my keystore as a
trusted one with the keytool from the command line.

If you could help me with this one.
Thanks for your time.

Ovidio.

Hi Ovidio!

Since you are using the 'Thawte Test Cert', you must install the Test
Root CA for the cert to be trusted by your application. (This is noted
on the test cert page).

You can get the Test Root directly from here,
http://www.thawte.com/servertest.crt (or .txt)

That should solve the 'untrusted server cert chain' error :)
