Although I tend to read each message as it comes in (sad that way), I
find it a real pain to 'search' the newsgroup.

I use netscape for browser / email and it would seem the newsgroup
server has search facilities turned off. On my local system I can do
searches by subject - but the local system searches will not let me
search the 'body' of the message.

Any one else familiar with this problem?

I think you generally have access to msg headers and not the
complete contents. You can use dejanews.com and similar
services to search content.

I do use Deja, but unfortunately it is my university newsgroup I want to
search - which does not have search facilities turned on. With such a
relatively small amount of text I am amazed this functionality does not
work - as it suggests it SHOULD work. I don't even think it works with
Mozilla. If I was a better man I guess I would try to fix that :-)
