LDAP Servers supported by NS LDAP Java SDK 3.05

Hi,

I get following error message when trying to do a simple search on
LDAP server at Univeristy of Michigan: 'LDAPConnection.checkSearchMsg:
ignoring bad referral'.
I just started using LDAP Java SDK 3.05 so I'm not quite sure if I
forgot to set somekind of setting or the SDKs just don't work with
UofMichican server. If that's the case, what LDAP servers are supported
by the Netscapes LDAP SDK? Thanks!

The Netscape SDKs should work against any LDAP compliant server. What it
sounds like happened is that you were trying to perform a search that did
not turn up anything, the server was trying to do a referral and since you
probably didn't set up to handle referrals you got the error message.

If you can post a copy of the hostname and search performed we can try and
test it.

I have tested the LDAP SDKs against several different LDAP servers
including non-Netscape LDAP servers without any problem.

I got it now. I forgot to anonymously bind to the ldap server.
