gateway customization uuid instead of uid

We are using iDS 4.1 and use a uuid instead of a uid as our rdn. The web
gateway product has the ability to add new entries but by default uses the
uid as an rdn. Does anybody have a clue as how I can edit the gateway to
generate a uuid and use it as the rdn?
