Messenger will only let me save to disk. I want to open the file with
WinZip.
Sometime in the past I obviously had that window pop up that asks if you
want to open or to save, with the check box that says "Don't ask me
again". In a daze, I must have said Save- Don't ask me again.
How do I get the choice back?
I have already gone through Edit|Preferences|Navigator|Applications|Zip
Files|Edit, told it to Ask how it is to be handled. It achieved nothing,
every time I click on a zip file attached to an email I only get the
"Save to" dialog box. I am using Communicator 4.79.
Any other ideas?

Not an option. You must download the file to run it, as it is
encoded in the message when you get it. Downloading it
unencodes it, turning it back into a ZIP file.
This also gives your AV a chance to scan it.

You could try Edit > Preferences > Navigator > Application > pick th
ZIP MIME type from the list > Edit > Check or uncheck the tick box
"automatically save to disk"

Sounds like you're using Norton Antivirus with e-mail protection enabled.
If this is so, then that's what's doing it & you need to look at the file
associations labeled "Download file". These are ones Norton puts in there.
Find the one for zip files (or any other you want to change as well) and
edit that one the same way you described.
If you're not using Norton, then I don't have a clue, but at least I tried!
