A tournament might lure back some old clue.

Wow, that would be awesome.

I can definitely commit.

You could stream as an observer, but to see the action from different
perspectives you'd have to click on the ship you're
interested in watching at the time, that is something that can be done
though. Also an observer can only observe one team at a time, so maybe
have two observers streaming so viewers can watch both teams on the
tactical.

I can provide a server if no one else steps up.

Definitely!

Sven owns it.
None of which have played in many months or years.
> Wow, that would be awesome.
For some small value of 'awesome' I guess. What will happen is it will
be, if anything, a twink fest for the most part with a small handful of
talent showing up.
Part of the problem will be fielding two full teams plus 1 or 2
alternates.
> I can provide a server if no one else steps up.
And the existing clue.netrek.org (primary) and b.clue.netrek.org
(secondary) are no good... why?
> Sven owns it.
Sven hasn't owned it for a year or two now; tanner does.

We only think when we are confronted with problems.

Sorry forgot about them.

Ok, Bob Tanner owns it.
Depending on scheduling, I´d likely be up for it, and definitely think
if it´s going to be done, it should be on clue.netrek.org . I can´t
really claim to be clue, but I´m at least good enough to play SC and
not make a complete idiot of myself ;).
I don't really think that this will have as huge of an impact as you all
are expecting, but if you go through and email or otherwise contact
every_single_clue_that_has_ever_played and tell them that we're going to
have a tournament, they might come. Which means: Get to work on doing
that. Now.

Hey Lee!
Those rusty CAs parking outside caught my attention...
Be a twinkfest or grand revival tournament, I'm in!
Karthik purge the players database? Heh, I think you're safe. In fact,
I'll bet really green dollars on it.

All of us encounter, at least once in our life, some individual who utters
words that make us think forever. There are men whose phrases are oracles;
who condense in one sentence the secrets of life; who blurt out an aphorism
that forms a character or illustrates an existence.

I can play if this happens, we get teams and the game time is okay for me.

Hello!
We are still looking for people. I am starting to get a large list but we absolutely need to have enough to run the event. Please let me know if you are interested or if you know someone that may be interested.
I'm working on a way of observing the game. I've obtained some sponsorship and more importantly promotion. To be explicit, no one is going to make any money on this event besides the players themselves. All the sponsors really just think the idea of bringing Netrek into the modern streaming age is cool. With the promotion I have, I expect at least a few hundred people to watch the tournament and maybe over 1000 if we get super lucky.
Everything is moving along very well and I'm hoping to have more announcements in the next week.
Development has meant that I haven't had as much time to hop on to servers to chat but to all that I've chatted with there, thanks!
Please let me know if you have any ability to play or help!
Thanks!
