In Tutorial 5: Position- and distance-based connectivity
show a 2D visualization of cell positions and connections, and plot the connectivity matrix:
here we work with 2d plot

==================================================================
my  question is how can we view 3d plot of  cell positions and connections in netpyne

Thanks,
arpit

Hello Arpit,

We don't currently have a 3D plot of cell position and connectivity, but that's a great idea.  If you could request it as a new feature at our GitHub repository (https://github.com/Neurosim-lab/netpyne/issues/new/choose), that would help get the ball rolling.

In the meantime, if you look at the Package Index for plot2Dnet:
you can see that there is a "view" option which allows you to change which 2D axes you are plotting, i.e. 'xy', 'xz', or 'yz'.  That should allow you to get a sense of the 3D layout of your network.

Cheers,
Joe

P.S.  There is a cool interactive plot also, with the same "view" options:
http://netpyne.org/netpyne.analysis.interactive.html#netpyne.analysis.interactive.iplot2Dnet

That function will produce an html page with an interactive figure you can play around with.
