I see that there's a new restconf-impl branch in the repository. My employer is seeking an open source NETCONF+RESTCONF server implementation, so I am curious to know what the end goal is for this branch. Is this branch intended to implement the IETF RESTCONF draft? With what restrictions? Is there a target date for completion? Depending on the goals, my employer may be interested in contributing to the project.

Thanks.

Hi Tom,
since the RESTCONF is still under development, I'm not aware of an open source NETCONF - RESTCONF solution. The branch you mentioned is kind of proof of concept (actually it is a master thesis). We are playing with it and testing what exactly is necessary to implement, what issues are there and so. Netopeer is open source, so you can freely play with the code, but this part is definitely not in a production state. Anyway, we plan to integrate RESTCONF somehow (and sometime) into the Netopeer server. But the final code may (and surely will) differ from what you can currently find in the restconf-impl branch.

Currently, we have some other areas we want to focus before focusing on RESTCONF.

Best regards,
Radek
