I think it could be a really useful site. My friends and I are always
looking for campsites where we can get a fire going to sit around in
the evening.

I don't like the various buttons arranged haphazardly all over the page
- Forum, Firefox, Powered by 000webhost, hit counter etc.

Why on earth should I care who hosts the site or how many "hits" it's
had? (In any case I always think a hit counter looks amateurish. If
000webhost are so good they should be providing you with statistics.)

I would move the menu up, it's off the bottom of the page. And why not
simply include the forum link in the menu?

On the home page it says, "Suppliers - Where to get the best for
least". "Where" is the question, because I couldn't find them!

When did they move Argyll into Central Scotland? And are there no
campsites in Eastern Scotland, Western Scotland or the Borders?

The lists of sites are useful but I suggest that you make the links to
the individual campsites own web sites open up in a new instance of the
browser. Having got people to your site you don't want to take them
away!

How about a link for people to submit campsites? I see you can do that
within the forum but many people won't want to have to register on a
forum. You could always send a polite email to people who submit sites,
suggesting that they might like to join the forum and share advice with
others and "draw" them in that way!

The "country" pages are inconsistent. England has small white text
somewhere - let's see, if I scroll down far enough it's there
somewhere.
Scotland has big white text. Wales has tiny red text.

Sorry if I sound a bit negative, I'm trying to be constructive and
helpful!

I realise it's your first site and I think it could be really useful.
In fact I've already suggested one of the campsites to a group of
friends and passed on the URL of your site!

Definitely a useful site! I agree with all the previous comments, and also
noticed that a couple of pages are not centred either. But the fact that the
navigation buttons change according to where you are (and are a bit 'garish'
on the eye too) is the trickiest thing. I really recommend Steve Krug's book
'Don't Make Me Think', it certainly opened my eyes to the importance of
simple and effective navigation - it's a sad truth but people tend to be
much more impatient than we would like, and will navigate away quickly if
they can't find what they want.

All good learning though, well done and good luck

Martin
