tables/sliced images

I've got a simple 3-wide, 4-high sliced image. I've built a basic table and
each cell has some script/code in it. Displays fine and the script effects work
nicely on a test page outside of NOF.

When I take the code, paste in into a layout region or a text box, it splits it
into 3 columns with about a 30-pixel gap in between columns, hence destroying
the effect of making it look like one nice image.

Is there a way I can import it into NOF and it not break it all apart? Or
should I specify colspan and rowspan and height/width attributes in my
HTML--would that help?

Or is it possible to have my header image and menus in the top frame of page,
and somehow get NOF to reference my HTML page with the table on it in the lower
half of the page somehow?
