I am totally naive with regard to setting up and using the database
component, but following the instructions in the manual seems to not resolve
the problem I have having. To summarize:
1. System: WIN XP Pro; P4 2.4, 1.5Gig ram.
2. I created a test data base (testdatabase.mlb) with 2 records in
Microsloppy's Access and successfully registered it with the OBDC driver.
3. Created a test site in V8 and, in page view, opened the database
component. Clicked on the "connector" tab and selected the PHD option
(though the same problem appears in ASP option). Entered the name of the
database in the DSN window and click "test." Message: "connection
successful"
4. Clicked on the database tab to view the records and a database called
"Mailing List" appeared (I used the Mailing List wizard to create the
database in Access"
5. Clicked on the "View Data" tab and got an error message from the OBDC
driver that it could not find the table or query. Tried again and again,
with same result.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated since I am quite a
neophyte in this area.

Thanks

OK..I found the solution to this problem. Somewhere back in one of the
posts, it was noted that the connector does not like spaces in the name of
the database...using the Access wizard, the database was called "Mailing
List;" I changed it to "MailingList" and, Eureka, it worked. Now another
problem has cropped up:

As a test, I published the V8 site (it only has the connector on it) and
sent the resulting code to a unique folder on my remote server. I also
uploaded the database to the same directory. When I tried to access the
site using my browser, I got the following error message:

Fatal Error: call to undefined function ODBC_connect() in www...my
directory//assets/lib/php/drivers/adobd-odbc.in.php in l....

What have I done wrong....
