Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have "Published to Local" several times
before without incident. This time however it is coming up with an error
saying that it cannot create a directory for LOCALS~1\Temp\msoclip1\01\?
And that's all I see, with an OK button and the Publish doesn't work. What
in the world is it trying to tell me? And how can I get passed this
problem?

Thanks,
MaryAnn

OK, hours later, I finally found the problem. Even though some of you may
know this already ... I thought I should post what I found in case there is
someone else out there that it happens to. I believe that the problem is
when one has copy/pasted from a Word document and a portion of it is not
available, the Publish cannot get that asset so it will not complete the
Publish. I found that one of the things I had copy/pasted from a word
document onto a page was a drawing. When I looked back at the page, it
showed up as a huge X in a big box. I changed it to a jpg picture and ran
the publish again, and it worked fine.

MaryAnn,

Pasting from Word is bad for other reasons as well.

It brings in Office-specific XML formatting code that isn't friendly to HTML
pages.

Bringing in text from Word should be done with Paste Special Unformatted.

Bringing in content with images should be avoided entirely, for the reason
you mention.
