Netscape has just released version 8 and we have taken a look at it. We
have identified a problem with the browser and there appears to be an issue
as to how it handles XML. We have found some other software manufacturers
that have similar problems since installing the new browser. For NOF users
when the new browser is installed it will cause the Style View to go blank.
Un-installing the browser does not fix the issue. To this point we have
found the only real fix would be to re-install IE, but again, it is very
early in the game and we are still trying to identify what in the browser
actually causes this to happen. We have contacted Netscape and are waiting
for a reply.

We will keep you updated on this issue.
Thanks
Scott

We have not heard back from Netscape at this time. However, we are able to
determine the cause and what we were able to do to bring back the existing
functionality in Style view that was lost. When the Netscape browser is
installed it creates an entry in the registry at the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins\Extension

Under this key it will add the key for .xml which will in turn reference the
path to a Netscape DLL (npTrident.dll). In our initial tests we removed this
key from the registry and the Style view worked again as it should. We
previewed various sites in both IE and Netscape and did not run across any
problems after we removed the reference. Of course without indepth knowledge
of how all the pieces work within the browser we cannot be certain of all
the effects this will have on the browser but we do know it will return the
Style view to the working state it was prior to the installation of the
browser. We made various attempts within both browser and file settings to
avoid making changes to the registry but each attempt was un-successful.

We will continue our attempts to contact Netscape and find out more about
this issue. We will keep you updated with their response.
Thanks
Scott
