Hi,
I have the following problem: Need site to look the same with Netscape
3.0 gold, Netscape 4.0, Netscape 4.7, IE 4.0. In Netscape 3.0 and IE
4.0 rollover buttons are stacked up on left side. With Netscape 4.0,
scroll bars on some pages are missing. OK with Netscape 4.7. I need
older versions to show buttons at top (under banner).

Each page is using css & layers. I tried using Nested Tables but the
two rows of buttons got out of position.

Also very slow uploading and hangs 30% to 50% when uploading.

I am using version 3.0 for Macintosh
I have a G3, 300 mgh, 64mg ram

The site name is pallidotomy.com

Thank you,
Waiting for your help and answers
Bob

Hi Bob,

The rollovers are not going to work on 3.0 browsers because they use
JavaScript 1.2. CSS+Layers will not look at all right on older browsers
because it is a 4+ technology for the most part.

That being said, scroll bars may or may not be added depending on screen
resolution and monitor size of visitors. It also depends on your default
text size in your browser. For example, I viewed your page on IE 4.72 and
NC 4.61. It looked great on IE but on Netscape your text overlapped other
text boxes. This is due to the difference in text sizes in the browsers.
This would not happen with Nested Tables.

Things to try: You can build your site and have it set to Nested Tables,
but place what ever you need to be aligned with a table. Alternately, you
can build different version of your site for each browser, and then set up
a screendoor JavaScript that forwards visitors to the correct page.

Best wishes,

Jason M
